I’ve always been an avid reader and there are a lot of books I love, but there are very few that I would say have changed my life. Girl, Wash Your Face and Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis definitely make that list.
I stumbled on Rachel’s Instagram page about 6 months ago. I was drawn to her straight forward style and actual tactical information to help you chase your dreams. I immediately started listening to her podcasts and then the dream of starting this blog really took a hold on my heart and mind. I found myself constantly thinking about it, distracted at work, practicing food photography, but waiting to be “good enough” to do it. I bought her books and after inhaling both of them, I was sold.
She always says that “other people’s opinions of you are none of your business” and that really resonated with me. I have a long history of letting fear of failure and fear of looking silly stop me from trying new things. Lately though, that fear has shifted. From fear of failure, to a fear of never trying. So I’m here. And the more I face that fear, the more its grip loosens.
